What a Wonderful World Festival June 23 - 26 2022

WELCOME

How do we keep this beautiful part of the world safe for the next generations?

We hope What a Wonderful World Festival will inspire and challenge our community to take action to sustain our planet.

We have recruited some outstanding speakers, artists and activists to help us:  Tom Heap, thoughtful and upbeat presenter of BBC Countryfile and author of ’39 Ways to Save the Planet’.  Comedian Kate Fox takes a lighter look at the issues.

Paul Smith and Duncan Lloyd from Indie band, Maximo Park headline an amazingly wide-ranging Concert for the Planet.

Local farmers can tell us how they are working to save the planet.

Young people will be out in force debating, asking questions, dancing, singing, playing music and creating amazing works of art in spray-paints.

Alnwick Playhouse

“Alnwick Playhouse is delighted to be a part of What A Wonderful World Festival. Hosting the event in our new building offers us the opportunity to engage in the vital conversation that is climate change. Our theatre is a space where the most important issues of the times are to be considered, it is with great pleasure we welcome you in.” Damian Cruden, CEO and Artistic Director, Alnwick Playhouse

The Alnwick Garden

“We at The Alnwick Garden are thrilled to be involved with the “What a Wonderful World Festival”. The challenges facing us over the next few decades are immense and they can only be overcome through team work and communities coming together. This year’s festival will be a fantastic blend of education, dance, music and drama to highlight the challenges ahead while celebrating our precious natural assets.”  Mark Brassell, CEO, The Alnwick Garden
